The last few months have been pretty erratic. A lot has happened in a very short amount of time, relatively speaking. In August I got a job working at my local Hollywood Video, and that came to an end earlier this weekend. To be honest, I'm quite glad I left when I did, and although it will be hard times for a little while, I'm very confident that I'll be able to find another, better job somewhere less stressful. My previous semester as school was... interesting to say the least. It almost seemed like a year's worth of events got squeezed into a short 4 months, and in the end it was all quite exhausting, physically and mentally. As you might have noticed, I was hard at work with many art projects at school, the currency redesign project being one of them. It was very difficult to get anything done, because up until recently I was completely unable to do any graphic work outside of school. It didn't help my grades very much, but, I learned things anyways, and that's all that really counts.
Very recently, I was lucky enough to acquire a new laptop, and so far so good, it's a real beauty compared to my last. It runs all my software without reasonable flaw, well enough to use on a day to day basis and not be annoyed. I believe it will help my productivity in the coming months. Speaking of which, the next few months will be one of trial.
Between now and Fanime, I need to ace three required classes and pick up and bullshit 2-3 others, of which I've yet to find. On top of which, I desperately need to find another job, to finance said Fanime trip. Thankfully, that's the only expensive I have left in the foreseeable future. Why must I work so hard? Well, hopefully if I pull it all off, then in the fall I will be attending school at San Jose State University instead of continuing to waste my time at Las Positas.
Besides all of this, there are still my personal goals for this year, which I'm sure I won't accomplish, but I hope I'll at least have fun trying anyways. Spending more time with friends is a must, as up until recently there has been a void of such. Last night some friends and I went to San Francisco to go see the Battlehooch show at The Bottom of the Hill. It was quite amazing, Battlehooch really knows how to put on a show and get people moving. If you ever have the opportunity to go see them, I highly recommend it, you and whomever you go with will have quite a fun time indeed.
Well, that's all for now. Perhaps I won't be so lazy this year, and actually post things more often. I've never really been a true part of the deviantArt community, and perhaps it's time I invested a little more interest in it. Enjoy this year and the Obama Presidency.
